Southernmost Illinois Tourism Bureau partners with Georama to bring Amazing Illinois travel experiences directly to consumers
From world-renown cultural institutions to on-the-farm dining adventures and everything in between, Illinois offers no shortage of amazing travel experiences. This summer, for the first time, the Illinois Office of Tourism and Southernmost Illinois Tourism Bureau (SITB) are bringing those experiences directly to travelers through a series of virtual travel experiences in partnership with Georama, the world’s first real-time virtual tour platform.
Near Cobden, IL, the next virtual tour will give travelers an exclusive look at The Shawnee Hills American Viticultural Area (AVA), the first AVA in Illinois. On June 11, the Among the Stars Festival at StarView Vineyards is a Celebration of Shawnee Hills Grapes & Wines. If you can’t attend the festival in person, tune in live at 3pm June 11, 2016 by by visiting http://southernmostillinois.com/video/ and for 30 minutes you can be part of the celebration and ask your tour guide questions about the grapes and wines of the Shawnee Hills.
“If you have ever thought, ‘I’d like to try that, or see that’ now there is a chance for people to tune in for a live virtual tour from anywhere. You can even ask questions and make comments to the tour guide.” Said Carol Hoffman with SITB. “We hope this will encourage people to visit the area in person.”
In addition to the tour of the festival at StarView Vineyards, other Southernmost Illinois area experiences will be featured during live tours this summer, including Shawnee Bluffs Canopy Tour, the Cache River Wetlands, and more on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail.
