The Alexander County Tourism Group will present “Country Quilts and Memories” at Egyptian School on June 4, 2016 beginning at 10:00 a.m.. Quilts on display will showcase the skills of local quilters and stories of the quilts will be included with the table displays.
Quilts will again be judged by Gail & Linda of Murphysboro. Quilts will be judged by “Best of Show”, ” favorite hand quilted” and “favorite machine quilted”. Winners of best of show will receive $100.00. Best hand quilted and the best machine quilted will receive $50.00 each.
If attending the event on Saturday, there will be $10.00 donation which includes a light lunch at 11:30 and 12:00 p.m.. At 2:00 p.m., there will be a recognition of quilts and drawings. There is a small cost of $10.00 for entering a quilt in the event in order to cover costs of the event. Quilts will be hung on Friday, June 3, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Vendors may set up at that time or Saturday morning beginning at 7:00 a.m. There is a $10.00 charge for vendor.. Egyptian School is located on the 20023 Diswood Road adjacent to the Tamms-Olive Branch Blacktop in Alexander County.
